Sodium laureth sulphate vs Sodium lauryl sulphate. Sodium Laureth Sulfate is commonly used as a cleansing agent and derived from coconut.

What are the benefits?

It is considered gentle and effective, and it is commonly used in products especially for its cleansing and foaming properties.  Despite their namesake, sodium laureth sulphate and sodium lauryl sulphate are NOT the same thing. Because of the higher amount and different chemical structure of the fatty alcohols used, sodium laureth sulphate is a milder cleansing agent. Numerous industry experts have studied the efficacy of sodium laureth sulphate and determined that it is safe when used.
