Some research indicates that mandelic acid is an effective exfoliant, but it is not as effective as glycolic acid. The molecular size of Mandelic acid is twice the size of glycolic acid slower in regards to skin penetration. However, these characteristics can make mandelic acid better suited for sensitive skin.
