Elastin
Elastin is a protein present in the body's skin and tissues. It aids many tissues in the body in bouncing back to their original forms.
What are the benefits?
When paired with soluble collagen, elastin is a surface protecting agent used in cosmetics to relieve the symptoms of dry skin, enhance skin flexibility, improve skin texture, raise and improve skin stress, and affect the development of tropocollagen fibres. Wound healing has been stated to be aided by preparations containing elastin and peptides extracted from it. According to studies, elastin in such systems can absorb lipids from the skin and, when added to scars, increase the structural glycoproteins and elastin present in the scar tissue. Elastin, an elastic structural protein present in the dermis alongside collagen, can be difficult to obtain in pure form.
